A former dentist who found a new way to work with her hands, Drishya now makes ceramics and invites others into the experience of clay.
The Story
From dentistry to clay
Drishya trained and worked as a dentist for a couple of years. Dentistry called for precision, creativity, and a steady hand, but she knew she wanted to follow a different passion. An early experiment making something small from clay sparked her curiosity about what else the material could become.
She learned the foundations of ceramics through courses and mentors, then began making custom pieces for friends and people who found her through Instagram and word of mouth. Today, she teaches pottery experiences at a ceramics café in Kochi and leads workshops in other spaces, sharing the process with new makers.
D.I.Y.A is an ongoing journey: a place for her to deepen her own practice, create meaningful work, and help others discover what they can make with their hands.
The Process
Slow making, honest materials

Clay is prepared and centred — finding stillness before form.

Coils, slabs, and pinched forms take shape, one gesture at a time.

Drying & bisque
Pieces rest, then take their first firing in the kiln.

Glazing & final fire
Glazes in warm, earthy tones are applied before the final firing.
